Jeep Cherokee Engine Specs
The Jeep Cherokee offers convenience and comfort features at every level, along with several engine options. It starts with a 2.4-liter inline-four at 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, a 3.2-liter V6 at 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque, or a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four at 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. The latter two engines are only available at higher trim levels.
Talking of trim levels, the Cherokee is available in five. The base trim is the Latitude, which is followed by the Latitude Plus. The Latitude Lux is where you can choose additional engine options, and the Trailhawk is your off-road trim. Finally, the Limited offers all the luxury bells and whistles.
Technology and Features
At the Latitude, you get basic features like automatic wipers and the Uconnect® infotainment system driven by a 7-inch touchscreen with full smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. The 6-speaker sound system offers solid and clear tones, and four-wheel-drive models get the Jeep Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System to keep you moving in rough terrain.
You also get the peace of mind that comes with standard and available safety features like:
- Blind-spot monitoring and cross-path detection
- Front-crash mitigation
- Lane-keeping systems
- Adaptive cruise control
As you step up in levels, you get a range of additional features like windshield wiper de-icers, remote entry, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel, all to help with those cold weather days. You can get a power driver’s seat for ideal seating, and updates to the infotainment system like a bigger 8.4-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, and premium 9-speaker sound. You can get an upgraded digital driver information display that gives you all the info you need right before your eyes.
Comfort and Luxury
Like most vehicles, as you go up in trim levels, you add luxury features. The Cherokee gives you leather upholstery, power seats, and driver memory settings, so you always have ideal levels of comfort.
An available panoramic sunroof nets you additional light and fresh air or the ability to stargaze at night. Extra packages give you luxury features like heated back seats and cooled front seats.
At the Trailhawk trim, you get all-terrain tires and the Jeep Active Drive locking four-wheel-drive system with a locking rear axle and rock crawling modes. You can add a Class III trailer hitch with seven-pin wiring and upgraded engine cooling, which allows you to tow up to 4,500 pounds.
All of this lets you tackle the trails the way you want to.
